Example Movie Title Sequence
This was actually an unused sequence developed for a student film, but gives a good example of setting atmosphere for the coming story.

October 1983 (Stranger Things Inspired)
Using Motion 5, I was able to replicate a similar style used in the hit show, Stranger Things. This short example uses 3D camera movements, lighting and texture and I even composed a short 80s styled synthesizer piece to compliment it and added some custom degradation to “age” it.

Creepy Motion Title Demonstration
As is customary during the Halloween season, I wanted to showcase a package set of designs that are meant for a creepy documentary piece. This example is a preliminary example of a motion title, transition and lower third accompanied by some old footage I shot that fit the design. The designs themselves were created using only Adobe Illustrator (to create the graphics) and Apple Motion 5 (to add details, such as movement, lighting and text) and set to music I wrote using Garageband.

Creating Motion and Ambience with a Two-Dimensional Image
Using a simple grunge styled background, I designed a bleeding text effect using Motion 5 to “spill” the text on to the background and then drip. Using nothing more than keyframes for scaling the image, simple gaussian blurs, FCPX’s preloaded Camcorder and Bad TV effect and adding several tracks of Foley effects to capture simple late night ambiences, the end result turned a flat image into what appears to be a person approaching a bleeding wall late at night with his camcorder.

Title Drifting
This is a simple example of using Motion to create the illusion of depth through 3D text, drop shadows and a virtual key light. The text was then keyframed to follow a specific route giving it a fun, but easy look.

A Local News Styled Lower Third Animation
A design created to emulate a television news broadcast, this example shows how simple it is to create clean lower third animations with various elements, such as a timestamp, temperature and social media information.
