Project: Video Resume

As part of the tail end of his film degree program, Rob was tasked with making a video resume short film in which to distribute to potential clients/employers. It worked. It got him a job at an ABC News affiliate several weeks after graduation where he went on to work in live audio, commercial shoots and was promoted to technical director for live news broadcasts.

Thor: The Dark World [Deleted Scenes] (Advanced Post & Story Development)

This task was to take a large collection of deleted scenes (courtesy of and permission from Marvel Studios) and construct a working scene. The entire project was meant to showcase Rob’s ability to edit footage.

The First Student Project (Ever!)

After his stint as a production audio mixer, Rob found film was where he needed to focus his talents on. Of course, this wasn’t something he expected would be an easy transition as in 2010, his knowledge of film editing was about as comparable to his knowledge of quantum physics. His very first assignment in community college was to create a 30 spec commercial for the school to familiarize himself with the process of shooting and editing, which was done using a pretty standard Sony handheld camcorder and Final Cut Pro 7.
